Henny's wedding in Speldhurst

Henny chose a classic and very beautiful delicate bouquet of lily of the valley. The stems were left short and finished with a very pretty diamante brooch to secure the ribbon...heavenly scent!!!

The church ceremony was held over in Sevenoaks, where we filled the church with large pedestals, pew ends and entrance arrangements. Shades of ivory, creams and greens were used in the church to keep simple and classic in style.

The reception was held back at her family home, in Speldhurst, where we filled the marquee with stone urns, ceramic bowls and hurricane lantern flower arrangements. Flowers included stock, hydrangea, roses, spray rose, silver leafed foliages and scabious, all in shades of peach, palest pink, soft blue and greens.

August weddings

Last week we had a few weddings to get through. All quite different styles, but all such beautiful venues.

Sarah's wedding was a wild, rustic and natural theme, with hints of very pale blues, ivory and creams with pale greens. Her flowers included scabious, stock, roses, nigella, and lots of natural foliage's. The ceremony was held at a beautiful country church in March Beech, followed by a reception at the wonderful Falconhurst Estate just a walk through from the church.

Sarah's bouquet, along with the girls', were in shades of palest blue, ivory and pale green. They were hand tied, but loosely tied to look rustic and natural. Nigella, asclepias, delphinium, scabious and waxflower mixed with soft foliage.

off to a busy start...

A busy week of weddings this week! Thursday saw us at Hotel du Vin, and today we have just got back from the gorgeous Wadhurst Castle. Claire's ceremony took place at Withyham Church, and then back to the Castle for the reception.

Flowers in the bouquets consisted of scented peony, rose, lilac and sweet sara spray rose. Peonies in Coral shades looked stunning!

Delicate corsages of spray rose and scented freesia.

buttonholes, with a difference...

an elegant single rose, love them! but these little beauties are so pretty and seem to be more popular this year with the vintage theme still going strong. Mixes of spray roses (scented), kangaroo paw in silver, scented tuberosa pips, delicate foliage's (minimal) and waxflower sprigs, what's not to like?

wish it was mine...

one of our very lovely customers brought in their own totally beautiful vessel and asked for it to be filled with scented gorgeousness...filled with narcissus bridal crown - imagine the scent of all those when they come up next week. Lucky B!

in the shop today...

WOW! flowers are really amazing at the moment. The choice of flowers and most of all the reasonable prices at auction this week. New varieties of lilac, roses and spray roses are growing, and each delivery coming in is very exciting.

Weddings, weddings and more weddings...

I really do think 2014 is going to be a busy year for the weddings! Since returning after the Christmas break we have seen so many lovely brides to start off the new year. Lots of exciting new venues too!

I have also just taken delivery of a disc of some wonderful pictures from David Burke Photography, we did a photo shoot at Hotel du Vin last year and they are amazing! David has kindly let me have some of the images for our web, and our wedding portfolio.

Here is a small taster of some of the amazing work he does (obviously these are very floral, he does some exceptional shots of other wedding stuff too!)
