A special dinner

A lovely couple celebrated birthdays last weekend and had a wonderful evening dinner at the gorgeous Hotel du Vin in the Havanna Room. The table was decorated with trailing long flower arrangements and looked beautiful centrally placed on the table. Colours of palest blue, pinks, lilacs, ivory and greens worked well, using peonies, roses, stocks, delphinium, eryngium and echinops.

a bit of everything...

loved making this bouquet - a real vibrant mix of all summer colours - a heavy flower content including achillea, rose, spray rose, waxflower, senecio, dahlia, sedum, veronica and astilbe.

today at the castle

Todays wedding was at the beautiful Wadhurst Castle. Flowers were peonies, rose, spray rose, delphininium, hydrangea and stocks. The grounds looked amazing, perfect lavenders lining the gazebo for the ceremony outside today.

Another lovely English country wedding.....

Just had some lovely professional shots in from Hannah's gorgeous wedding that took place back in June. Peonies, flower herbs, roses, and soft foliage's were used for her bouquet.

true english country wedding today...

Absolutely loved todays weddings. The flowers and colours were truly English, and seasonal flowers at their best! Anna married at Brenchley Church followed by a reception at the family home back in Lamberhurst. Her colours were lilacs, soft pinks, ivory, creams and shades of darker blue for the reception.

A full and blousy bridal bouquet of norma jean rose, peony and astrantia - highly scented

The bridesmaids carried posies of pink scented peonies, roses and spray rose

In keeping with the farm setting, our milk churn fitted in well down at the marquee entrance

A full and flower heavy top table of peony, rose, hydrangea, scabiosa, stocks, nigella, waxflower, delphinium, agapanthus and lots of seasonal foliage.

Elegant silver punch bowls overflowing in shades of blues, lilacs and pinks.

organic and local

I feel very lucky to have such a local supplier (when I say local, its a few hundred yards through the woods) who supplies beautiful English organic flowers.

Every Monday and Friday she brings me in an array of beauties, and I have been lucky to have the most amazing Stachys, Achillea, Peonies, Eryngium, Echinops, Nepeta and Erysimum to name a few.

They are long lasting, beautiful quality and above all local and organically grown - we will be enjoying lots of new varieties throughout the summer.
