summer is finally here...

after walking around the garden after work today, some of the flowers that are now just sprouting are truly gorgeous. Scented garden roses (David Austin) in pale pinks and peach, Peony, just about to open with tight buds still to come. The Cotinus is rich in colour, deepest red with the sun shining on dark red foliage, and the salix in creamy whites and greens. Viburnham snowball, some of the biggest we have had, now starting to drop its tiny white flowers.

Some of the true English flowers now coming into their own, with lavenders (butterfly and old English Hidcote), and bright red geraniums that remind me of holidays abroad. Flowering honesuckle over the fence, and scented jasmine, so strong in the evening.

Alice in Wonderland...

The theme was based around Alice in Wonderland and a tea party table was created using pretty blooms of spring ranunculus, roses, spray rose, waxflower and peach frilly roses. Fridays funeral flowers - an absolute joy to make. Flower choices were scented lilac (Madam Blush), pepita and madam bombastic roses, dill, amaranthus, panicum, and so many beautiful flowers. A packed out service in the quaint St Pauls Church, Rusthall.

the brief for this was natural, spring, and more importantly for a gentleman who loved his garden. A beautiful natural spray with varieties of narcissus, stock, flowering viburnham, camelia, clematis, viburnham snowball, freesia and tulip.
